About Fursa Challenge

The 2023 IYD falls one-year post election and Kenya is settling down to actualize its long term plans. The Fursa Challenge Youth Advocacy #YouthSong is envisioned as creative medium that can advance democracy (civic engagement) and social dialogue. The Fursa Challenge Youth Advocacy #YouthSong provides the platform for self-expression, amplify marginalized voices, mobilize communities, foster understanding, inform power structures, and contribute to shaping public opinion on who the youth are and want. By utilizing #TalantaHela to promote democratic values, inclusivity, and social change.

Why Fursa Challenge Youth Advocacy #YouthSong celebrating ways #YouthLead as agents of change for the global goals; 1. Expression of Identity and Belonging: Song and dance are powerful forms of expression. They allow individuals and communities to celebrate their cultural heritage, express their identity, and foster a sense of belonging. 2. Amplifying Voices: Through music and dance, marginalized groups and individuals can amplify their voices and raise awareness about social issues. Songs and dances often serve as platforms for storytelling and sharing personal or collective experiences, and advocating for change thus influencing public opinion. 3. Civic Engagement and Activism: Song and dance have historically been used as tools for activism and civic engagement. These creative expressions can mobilize individuals, inspire collective action, and contribute to the democratic process by informing power structures and advocating for social change. 4. Encouraging Dialogue and Understanding: Songs and dance transcend language barriers and facilitate communication among diverse groups.
