This looming ban on mtumba, what's your take on it. I do understand there will be employment created with the revival of the textile industry (Kenyan made clothes) but what will happen to the people who rely on mtumba sector for their daily bread. Many youths ventured into the mtumba business when formal jobs/corporate jobs were not an option (lack of jobs) what will happen to the suppliers, wholesalers, retailers,importers....an entire market will be ruined. Why can't the two co-exist(mtumba and locally made clothes). The hustler gvt spoke against the ban during their campaigns and now they're entertaining the idea of banning it. It will affect alot of people especially the youth who sought the market creating jobs for themselves.
